Abstract

Magnetic, electric, and magnetoelectric properties of the Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 and NiFe2O4 multiferroic composite with 80/20 mol percentage ratio were investigated experimentally. Results identify the interplay between the magnetostrictive and piezoelectric phases as the origin of the observed magnetoelectric coupling. Such behavior was then analyzed in light of the square and dynamic stress magnetization models with the latter shown as the better alternative to describe the composite's magnetoelectric coefficient.
