Abstract

Several pieces marked by silversmiths from Talavera de la Reina are studied. The great processional cross and the chalice of Castañar de Ibor stand out, unpublished Gothic-Renaissance works by the notable silversmith Juan de Ledesma. The Mannerist chalice from Villar del Pedroso is important, with a hitherto unpublished mark by Juan Váez. Blas Carrasco carved out the purist custody of Cabezuela del Valle in 1674: it has his mark, unpublished. The work is complemented by other works from the 17th and 18th centuries: those made by Juan Domínguez for Losar de la Vera y Serradilla and that by José Sánchez Crespo for Peraleda de la Mata stand out.
