Abstract

Mill et al.1 demonstrated that linoleic acid (18:2N6) and other long-chain fatty acids can induce platelet low-level chemiluminescence. It turned out that only those fatty acids which are susceptible either to enzymatic or autoxidation, e.g., polyunsaturated fatty acids, emit light.
