Abstract

The results of experimental studies of the plasmadynamic synthesis of crystalline boron carbide under the counter interaction of supersonic jets of electrodischarged plasma generated by high-current coaxial accelerators are shown. The synthesized product was researched using the X-ray diffraction method and transmitting and scanning electron microscopy. It is shown that, under the counter interaction of plasma jets, large spherical hollow and ultradispersed particles of boron carbide B4C are produced.
