Abstract
Plasma surface interaction (PSI) is a process that occurs in any system containing a plasma. The interactions can be used for materials processing, not discussed in this article, chemistry, and occur in fusion devices. In the latter case, PSI can lead to hydrogen uptake and material degradation. The similarities and differences between chemistry PSI and fusion PSI are introduced in this article.
