Abstract

Planning and control systems control the delivery goals of a project in an organization and defining the approaches to accomplish them. Proper planning is mandatory to succeed in the project in an organization and plays a vital role in resource distributions, plans, responsibilities, and other activities. J. Andrew Grimson, David F. Pyke, (2007) described how sales and operations planning works, an exploratory study and it’s framework. The purpose of the article is to understand an operational plan and control systems for the delivery of the project for an IT (Information Technology) company. This article will also explain how planning and controlling works for any software project in an IT company. For proper planning, the project plan prepared and is considered a living document that is periodically reviewed and adjusted to reflect the needs of the project team and to provide continuous improvement in the development of an effective program. In project plan purposes, areas, actions, and timeline are described which is helpful for project managers and the employees to meet the deadline of the project. An operational plan in an IT company involves few steps like the departments who are in charge to complete the tasks or responsible for delivery, the department responsible for the cost of the project, marketing of the project after going live.
