It was assumed the coordination of the activity from the point of view of a multidisciplinary team work within a time schedule. Firstly, the thoracic patient process of care was developed and its flowchart was designed for May and June of 2013. Subsequently, a catalog of possible adverse events, failures and sources was developed by failure mode and effects analysis in healthcare. Results: The SWOT analysis has lack of professional training on patient safety, underreporting of adverse events and lack of feedback between the clinical management leaders and professionals; among its strengths, there are involved leaders who are experts on quality assurance. The flow chart provides information on the activities of each professional at every stage of the patient process from the beginning of their disease until completion of the process.
