Abstract
We present a statistical analysis of the pinning fields in the zero temperature Random Field Ising Model (RFIM) with metastable dynamics. The RFIM has been useful to study avalanches and hysteresis in low temperature magnets with disorder [1][2]. Pinning fields are the local random fields responsible for the existence of unreversed domains in the decreasing branch of the hysteresis loop, even for very negative values of H. We present the analysis for different values of the model parameters and compare the results from numerical simulations with the mean field solution.
