Abstract

A pilot programme to develop a sewage-collection system in Egypt is described. During the course of the project, a number of key concepts and techniques emerged as significant. These included the concept of project momentum, the technique of interactive graphical scheduling, the use of trend charts, and organizational definitions through the use of the linear responsibility matrix. In addition, a number of factors were identified as having a significant bearing on the degree of success of the project, and these are outlined.
