Abstract

Abstract This paper is concerned with the effects of temperature and d.c. field on the piezoelectric properties of D,L- or L-α-alanine doped triglycine sulphate type (TGSe, TGS and TGFBe) crystals. Also studied are the effects of different degrees of gamma-irradiation on these crystals. The results of temperature dependences for internal bias fields (E b ). characterising the unipolarity state stability degree of ferroelectric imperfective crystals, are given. The principal role of E b in the character of imperfective crystals domain structure building and thus in the character of piezoelectric and other physical properties of structure-defective crystals is emphasized.
