Abstract

In the world of picaresque, represented by the literature of the Spanish Golden Age, the food universe has a capital importance. The procurement and consumption of food are two of the most useful stages of the gastronomic process to approach this narrative subgenre. To understand the socioeconomic context of the Golden Age Spain allows to understand the difficulties that accompanied the obtaining of food and allows to approach, the hand of Mijael Bajtin and his conception of the banquet, to the idea of victory which, therefore, underlies the consumption of food in picaresque works.
