Abstract

Abstract Three insecticides were tested for phytotoxic effects on oval-leaf peperomia, Swedish ivy, and wandering Jew plants. Plants were grown in 4-inch standard pots, using 50% Metro Mix 350 and 50% sterilized field soil. Each insecticide was applied with 2-qt capacity hand pump sprayer to the upper and lower leaf surfaces. Applications were made on 28 Jan and repeated on 11 Feb to 4 plants of each species. Plants were then placed randomly (within species) on benches. Phytotoxic responses were surveyed twice weekly for 6 wk after the first application.
