Abstract

By J. A. Richardson London: Sit Isaac Pitman & Sons Ltd. 1964. Pp. ix + 325. Price 42s. There is a tremendous amount of material in this book, partly (and commendably) because of the concise style of writing, and partly (not so commendably) because the author has been very sparing in his explanations of technical terms, particularly in the botany. As a result the book will be more obviously useful to the botanist in its many demonstrations of how physical instruments and techniques can be applied to the study of plant genetics, morphology and physiology.
