Abstract
Edited by R. Meredith and J. W. S. Hearle London : Interscience Publishers Ltd. Pp. ix + 411. Price 88s. This is not so much a bad book as a futile book—using that adjective in all its connotations. Like so many similarly heterogeneous collections of essays published at the present time, this book began as a series of lectures and, following the all-too-familiar pattern that threatens to overload the shelves (and the budgets) of libraries, these have now been published in book form.
