Abstract
We describe an analysis of phototransferred thermoluminescence (PTTL) using simple energy band models and considering the dynamics of charge transfer between localized trapping states during irradiation, illumination and heating. The various behaviours which are possible are highlighted and described. Particular attention is focused upon the dependences of the PTTL signal upon the illumination time and upon the wavelength of excitation. Some comparisons with experimental PTTL signals from crystalline quartz are discussed.
