Abstract
Photostimulated exoemission (PSE) from magnesia was studied along with the effect of the adsorption of active gases (H2, O2, CO2, and water vapors) on the intensity and kinetics of the emission decay. Based on the literature data, it was shown that PSE was excited from the local surface centers including a pair of low-coordinated ions Mg1c2+-O1c2− and Vs hole centers, which were also active centers of photosorption and photocatalytic oxidation of methane and some other hydrocarbons.
