Abstract

A europium (III) complex containing 1,5-styrylacetylacetone ligands, Eu(DSACAC) 3Phen was synthesized. Its photoluminescence properties have been investigated by fluorescence emission spectra and lifetime measurements. According to the fluorescence emission spectra, the Judd–Ofelt parameters Ω 2, Ω 4 of Eu(DSACAC) 3Phen have been calculated and the radiative properties were presented also. It showed that the increase of the conjugation length in the DSACAC ligand can also improve the metastable state lifetime τ m , the luminescence quantum yield η and the stimulated emission cross-section σ of 5D 0 → 7F 2 transition.
