Abstract

The orientation of dyes in the channel system of zeolites by steric constraints provides an opportunity to study the optical properties of the composite. We used ZSM-5 type zeolite crystals comprising a two dimensional channel system of straight and sinusoidal channels intersecting each other perpendicularly. PNA molecules were loaded into the channels via the gasphase. Two different positions of PNA molecules in ZSM-5 result in characteristic fluorescence spectra and their corresponding temperature dependence.
