Abstract

Photoluminescence (PL) characteristics at 77 K have been investigated for CuAlxIn1−xSe2 chalcopyrite quaternary crystals (x=0∼1) grown by an iodine chemical vapor transport technique. The effect of annealing of the crystals in various atmospheres on the PL spectra is also studied. The emission bands in the PL spectra are found to be classified into five types. The origins of those bands are discussed.
