Abstract
Bleibende Erinnerung: Ein Rotaxan konnte als bistabiles, kinetisch kontrollierbares Speicherelement betrieben werden (siehe Bild). Daten werden durch oxidativen Stimulus auf das Molekül geschrieben und mit UV-Licht gesichert. Nach dem Schreiben werden die oxidierten Spezies wieder in die ursprüngliche Form reduziert, wobei die Daten einige Stunden erhalten bleiben. Bestrahlung schützt auch nicht-oxidierte Rotaxane vor versehentlicher Beschriftung.
