Abstract
Abstract This division has displayed a consistent and progressive interest in current advances in the science and art of surveying, even though the main application of these has been in the field of topographic mapping, for which the State and Commonwealth have assumed the principal responsibility. In his normal capacity, the private surveyor can find little work for the Tellurometer and electronic computer, while the subject of photogrammetry has so far been discussed with emphasis on its role in major mapping projects. The object of my lecture tonight is to show that there are many aspects of air survey and photogrammetry which have particular significance for the private surveyor, both for cadastral and topographical surveys and other features of his professional duties.
