Abstract
The purpose of this contribution is to demonstrate the usefulness of high pressure methods in mechanistic studies of photochemical and photoinduced reactions of metal complexes in solution. Examples of photosubstitution, photoisomerization and photoredox reactions of transition metal complexes have been selected for presentation. A critical evaluation as well as perspectives for the future are given.
