Abstract
This paper reports results of the photoacoustic (PA) spectral studies of a series of CdTe and Cd1−x−yBexMnyTe (x=0.05, 0.10 and y=0.10) crystals. It presents experimental transmission and absorption photoacoustic spectra of the samples as well as the appropriate models leading to determination of optical absorption coefficient spectra. The Be concentration dependence of the band gap energy values and other parameters such as the thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity have been presented and discussed. The measured PA spectra of the samples were corrected by subtracting the PA signal cell. The influence of this correction procedure on the PA spectra as well as its influence on the optical absorption coefficient spectra is shown and discussed.
