Dr. Sommer received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, followed by an internship at Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, a residency in pediatrics, The Ohio State University and Columbus Children's Hospital, and a special fellowship in Genetics, Institute of General Medical Sciences, National Institutes of Health. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Medical Genetics.
