Abstract
Organelles in resting and growing cells ofMicrasterias americana were examined using electron microscopy after cytochemical procedures for four kinds of phosphatases, acid phosphatase (ACPase), alkaline phosphatase (ALPase), thiamine pyrophosphatase (TPPase), and inosine diphosphatase (IDPase), and osmium tetroxide reduction. Special attention was paid to activities in the Golgi apparatus.
