Abstract

The article centers around philosophical and pedagogical aspects of leadership development. In Greek philosophy leadership implied innate character traits pertaining only to the best representatives of human race. During the Renaissance a leader was viewed as a person capable of facing changing situations and dealing with challenges and time thanks to persistence and diligence. Educational ideas of the age of Enlightenment predetermined leadership development among all people regardless class and ranks. Leadership is a process of interaction based on equality, and justice. Leader is a person who possesses such qualities as courage, persistence, energy, wisdom, merit, and constructive managerial skills.
