Abstract
Using an analogy with electron-hole plasma in semiconductors we derive equations describing the dynamics of free two-dimensional vortices and antivortices in layered superconductors near the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition temperature K KT. It is found that even a weak external magnetic field H e normal to layers penetrates into the sample due to a spatial redistribution of vortices. We study also the passage of dc and ac currents through the system.
