Abstract

A serie of lacunary ordered perovskites including tetravalent uranium of A 2 II B II U IV O 5 type has been prepared by solid state reaction (A = Ba, Sr; B = Ba, Sr, Ca, Cd). Ba 3UO 5 has been shown to have two allotropic forms: an α tetragonal low temperature form and a β cubic high temperature form. The study of pseudo-binary α Ba 3UO 5 — Sr 3UO 5 shows the existence of cristallographic areas tetragonal, cubic and orthorhombic successively.
