Abstract

AbstractA lattice model of a melt of rigid copolymeric molecules is proposed. The density of states is calculated for alternating AB‐copolymers with block lengths lA and lB. The system under consideration exhibits behavior similar to the two‐dimension Ising model. In the case of lA = lB ≤ 2 there is a second‐order order‐disorder phase transition in the system. Copolymers with longer blocks demonstrate two second‐order phase transitions, or a single first‐order phase transition. The critical temperatures of these transitions are found in analytical form.magnified image
