Abstract

New data on the adiabatic thermal coefficient of pressure (a.t.c.p.) of liquid cesium were obtained with a modernized apparatus. Anomalies in the a.t.c.p., density, viscosity and electrical resistivity, as well as the structure factor (SF) of Cs were determined. These anomalies point to the possibility of a second-order phase transition in liquid Cs near 590 K.
