Abstract

A feedback system for reducing the phase noise in reference signals in analogue fibre optic links is proposed. A mathematical model is developed and confirmed experimentally. It is shown that the phase noise in a 150 MHz reference signal can be reduced up to an offset of 6.7 kHz from the carrier in a 5 km link.
