Abstract

Improvements in the experimental and theoretical input to evaluation of the phase-space factor for beta-decay of the free neutron prompt its re-evaluation after an interval of 16 years. We find: f = 1.68857 ± 0.00008 and f R = 1.71517 ± 0.00009 without and with outer radiative correction, respectively.
