Abstract
Automated mineralogy as a function of electron microscopy has been developed over the course of several decades. This article considers phase identification, quantification, and association determinations using QEMSCAN®, which was originally developed at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in Australia as QEM*SEM—Quantitative Evaluation of Minerals by Scanning Electron Microscopy.
