Abstract

The niobium-rich part of the Nb-Ga-Mn ternary system was studied in the isothermal section at 900 °C using X-ray diffraction and electron microprobe methods. The existence of solid solutions based on the binary niobium compounds Nb 3Ga, Nb 5Ga 3 and NbMn 2 was established. Two ternary intermediate phases with σ and μ structures were found.
