Abstract

It is shown that an external mechanical action on a set of condensed matter aggregate states may induce structural and phase changes that play crucial role in solid fracture stability loss. These processes include local melting and sublimation of solid phase nearby stress concentrators. Within this theory, it is possible to develop a general model of nucleation and growth of fracture nuclei in solids.
