Abstract

Micro-motion, such as nonuniform motion, induces complex range-Doppler coupling effect, which results in distortion in synthesizing range profile. To eliminate or suppress the distortion of the synthetic range profile (SRP), conventional technology such as motion compensation requires velocity estimation. Unfortunately, for a high-speed moving target with micro-motion, it is difficult to achieve real-time accurate estimation of the velocity of the target. Based on phase cancellation, a new technology is proposed to achieve range profile of a target with micro-motion via Stepped-Frequency waveform(SFW). The emulation result confirms the effect of the new technology.
