Abstract

In this paper, a wideband Doppler Filter bank architecture for synthetic range profile is analyzed. By using the method called velocity bin, the synthetic range profile can be acquired with accepted distortion. Two related theoretical formulas are deduced for the calculation of the range shift value and evaluation of the amplitude deformation extent of a moving target's range profile formed by the subbands imaging architecture, and thereby two critical conditions are derived. When radar system parameters satisfy such two critical conditions, a moving target's range profile with acceptable distortion can be obtained. Specific conclusions are verified with some simulation results.
