Abstract

Enthalpy relaxation investigation of blends prepared by solution casting and precipitation shows that a partial phase mixing is evidenced which is strongly dependent on the choice of the solvent and/or the precipitant. On the contrary, the respective polymer blend shows complete immiscibility irrespective of the solvent and/or the precipitant used. Some new aspects concerning the enthalpy relaxation method and its applicability in partially mixed polymer systems, as is the case of block copolymers, are also discussed.
