Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of phaco-chop combined with manual delivery of lens nucleus for hard nuclear cataractatter after glaucoma filtration surgery. Methods Seventy-eight eyes of 78 cases of hard nuclear cataract after glaucoma filtration surgery were divided into two groups randomly. Group A, 40 eyes of 40 cases, received phaco-chop associate with manual delivery of nucleus. Group B, 38 eyes of 38 cases, received ordinary phacoemulsification alone. The patients were followed for 1 month. The observing items included the uncrrected vision, intraocular pressure( IOP) and corneal endothelial count. Results At 1 day after surgery, the vision in Group A was better than that in Group B. At 1 month after surgery, the lose rate of corneal endothelium in Group A is obviously fewer than that in Group B. Conclusion Phaco-chop combined with manual delivery of lens nucleus for the treatment of hard nuclear cataract atter glaucoma filtration surgery is an effective method with better vision and low damage of corneal endothelium.
