Abstract
The State Mufti Department of Negeri Sembilan (JMKNNS) has issued fatwas addressing practices of heresy and deviant teachings conflicting with Islamic creed, aiming to safeguard the community's beliefs. This study examines the gazettement status of these fatwas in Negeri Sembilan, exploring potential implications on the enforcement of Sharia criminal cases. Utilizing document analysis, the research identifies selected fatwas, finding clear instances of heresy and doctrinal deviation practiced by specific groups. The State Fatwa Committee has decisively labeled these practices as deviant from true Islamic teachings. The study underscores the state government's commitment to curbing the dangers of heresy and deviant teachings. Its proclamation serves as a crucial guide for the Islamic community in Negeri Sembilan, emphasizing the need for adherence to correct practices and avoidance of any elements associated with doctrinal deviation.
