Petroleum Developments in Far East in 1966

Abstract

The 1966 petroleum of the noncommunist countries of the Far East is estimated at about 251 million barrels, slightly less than in 1965. Production in Indonesia decreased 15 percent, and in Pakistan 6 percent. The increases were 72 percent for Formosa, 50 percent for India, 18 percent for Brunei-Malaysia, and 15 percent for Japan. The geologic and geophysical exploration increased markedly for the region in general, but the exploratory and development drilling decreased. Individual country reports are included.
