Abstract
PET and PET-MDCT were used at the Human Brain Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, for stereotactic therapy of tumors and preparation for surgery. Stereotactic neurosurgery was preceded by biopsy and cryodestruction of the tumor. This technology allowed the active proliferation brain zones to be located and surgical instruments to be navigated to the zones. The error of the PET-MDCT targeting is 1.5 mm.
