Abstract

This second volume of collected essays complements the first, which contained twenty-four articles covering the forty-three years from 1962 to 2004 (reviewed in JTS, ns 57 [2006], pp. 632–4). That the 19 chapters in this subsequent collection have appeared in just 12 years is testimony to Professor Epp’s industry as an octogenarian. With the donation of the 4,500 books and 6,000 articles in his personal library to Baylor University in 2019, as described in the introduction, the present volume may be seen as a fitting conclusion to the author’s long and distinguished academic career. The studies are prefaced by a reprint of the introduction to volume one, ‘A Half-Century Adventure with New Testament Textual Criticism’, and followed by lists of the author’s other publications, his ‘text-critical responsibilities’, and the volumes which have appeared under his editorship in the New Testament Tools, Studies, and Documents series.
