Abstract
The paper is written in four sections for the holistic purpose of illustrating a broad and a specific perspective of engaged scholarship (ES). The first section concerns what is broadly known about the theories that are considered relevant and, therefore, informing about the perception of ES about a topic that includes two constructs, emotional intelligence (EI) and employee engagement (EE). The second section takes a deeper glimpse into key theories related to EI (specifically three). The third section includes a discussion of Boyer’s scholarship paradigm (the four domains of scholarship). The fourth and final section is a personal reflection and synthesis of ES.
