Abstract

The organization of doctoral consortiums in academic events is a relevant trend worldwide. With the purpose of bringing PHD students whose research has not been completed yet together, doctoral consortiums aim to actively contribute to their research papers by publishing them and opening their main methodological aspects and scientific proposals for debate. The International Conference on Information Systems and Technology Management - CONTECSI - an event held by the Faculdade de Economia, Administracao e Contabilidade - Universidade de Sao Paulo (FEA-USP), which was initially promoted in 2004, will hold the 4th Doctoral Consortium in 2010 as part of the event's program. This paper seeks to evaluate the perspectives of the doctoral consortia's actions worldwide and in Brazil, to observe the work of the CONTECSI Doctoral Consortium by evaluating how the studies there are discussed and, based on results, allowing the creation and enhancement of academic, scientific and relationship experiences of the CONTECSI and of other events that promote such meetings. In order to do so, a study about proposed consortia in events worldwide is encouraged initially, followed by the evaluation and feedback of presented papers and, finally, discussion is initiated and the experiences of the article authors' in putting these papers together provide guidance to fully benefit from future consortia events.
