Abstract

The article presents the results of the experimental research of the cognitive, emotional and behavioral coping mechanisms. The connection between coping mechanisms and dimensions of adult personal autonomy is investigated, common factors of coping mechanisms and personality factors from the alternative five-factor model are identified, the extent to which coping mechanisms can become predictors of favorable impression is investigated, the connection between coping and emotional self-control of the adult and the difference between the coping of the young adult (22 – 29 years) and the middle-aged adult (30 – 65 years).
