Abstract

There is a growing interest in PersonalizedMedicine. Even if we call it “PrecisionMedicine”, the principle of targeting treatmentsand prevention for each patient remainsthe same. Supporting a unique diagnosis andtherapeutic strategy for each patient requiresthe healthcare delivery system to embracecare customization as its overall perspective.Personalization of clinical strategies needs tobe accompanied by the customization of thehealthcare organizations themselves. From amanagement perspective, the need for carecustomization refers to the classical notionof “mass customization”. Mass customizationwhich is already applied in other sectors,is defined as “the development of tailoredservices to meet consumers’ diverse and changingneeds at near mass production prices”.11.
