Abstract

An assay of sites in New Jersey where Bacillus popilliae Dutky was colonized 25 years ago for the control of the Japanese beetle demonstrated that the pathogen was still present at all locations. It was found also in uncolonized pastures and cultivated fields within 2 miles of the original colonies.
