Abstract
Airway mucus hypersecretion is one of the common and important pathological features in chronic airway diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, lung cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis. It is closely related with the occurrence and development of airway diseases. Peroxisome proliferators activated receptor gamma is a nuclear factor of dense molecular lingand-dependent activation. Recent studies confirm that peroxisome proliferators activated receptor gamma and its ligands can antagonize airway inflammation and regulate airway mucus secretion.
