Abstract
Semiclassical analysis of shell structure is made for reflection-asymmetric and superdeformed cavity model. Strong shell structure which emerges at certain combination of quadrupole and octupole deformation parameter is shown to be closely related with the bifurcation of periodic orbits in ‘equatorial’ plane. Formation of superdeformed shell structure is also investigated and the role of periodic-orbit bifurcation will be clarified.
